Last Updated: January 29, 2026
At The Free Soil Project and Virginia Consumer, our mission is to advocate for a better Virginia through informed dialogue and collective action. To maintain a space that is safe, productive, and focused on social advocacy, all users must adhere to the following standards:
1. Respectful Advocacy
We encourage passionate debate and diverse perspectives on policy and regulation. However, we do not tolerate:
Hate Speech: Content that promotes violence, incites hatred, or promotes discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, age, nationality, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender, or gender identity.
Harassment: Bullying, stalking, or targeted attacks against other users, public figures, or our staff.
2. Accuracy & Integrity
As an advocacy and media site, the integrity of information is vital.
Misinformation: Do not intentionally post false or misleading information.
Attribution: When reposting or sharing media, please provide proper credit to the original source.
No Legal Advice: While we discuss laws and regulations, users must not post content that purports to be official legal or medical advice.
3. Prohibited Content
To keep our community focused, the following are strictly prohibited:
Commercial Solicitation: Do not use our platform for "spam," "MLM" schemes, or unauthorized commercial advertising.
Illegal Activity: Do not post content that encourages or provides instructions for illegal acts.
Doxing: Do not share the private personal information (addresses, phone numbers, private emails) of any individual without their explicit consent.
4. Media & Uploads
If you upload images, videos, or documents to our platform:
You must own the rights to the content or have permission to share it.
Content must not be obscene, sexually explicit, or gratuitously violent.
5. Enforcement
The Free Soil Project reserves the right, but does not assume the obligation, to monitor user-generated content. We may, at our sole discretion:
Remove content that violates these guidelines.
Suspend or permanently ban accounts that engage in repeated or severe violations.
Cooperate with law enforcement if we believe a violation of the law has occurred.
